Women take centre stage with unconventional, sartorial style
The atmosphere in the women’s selection this year is reminiscent of that in the men’s autumn-winter 2019 collection, with a unique, inimitable message that has been revamped by bringing together different styles and elements such as patches, nylon, Glen plaid and satin. I became enthralled in the process of overhauling the classic velvets and denims that can be found everywhere. I made playful, chic additions such as buttons, stones, colours and materials of all kinds – including wool – and used them to complement basic, everyday garments. All of this has given rise to a style all of my own with a fashionable flavour.
I am very fond of mundane fabrics such as classic velvet in its most common form and denim, which has been used to make jeans for nearly 150 years now. However, I like to give a fresh twist to these run-of-the-mill materials by adding eye-catching features. Women who wear the coats, trousers and other creations from my autumn-winter 2019 collection will feel exquisitely unique thanks to the blend of lifestyles, cultures and inspirations behind them all.
